Break the cycles you’ve been stuck in for years.
You may already recognize your patterns.
You might even understand where they came from.
But understanding a pattern isn't the same as being able to respond differently when it shows up the next time.
Cycle Breakers is a year-long, small-group program designed to help you develop the emotional intelligence to actually shift those patterns—
in how you relate to yourself, move through difficult emotions, communicate, navigate conflict, and show up in your relationships.
Understand yourself and your patterns more deeply and use new framing to begin to meet yourself in new, supportive ways.Cycle Breakers
A year-long EQ program guided by Genny Rumancik, author of The Wisdom of Feeling
Practice staying with difficult emotions and navigating conflict *without* abandoning yourself or attacking someone else.Recognize what’s yours, what’s someone else’s, and what happens between you so you can build relationships with greater intimacy, boundaries, and deeper connection.Inside Cycle Breakers, you’ll get the education, practice, and support you need to build greater emotional resilience & self-trust, shift deeply ingrained patterns, and create healthier relationships with yourself and others.
Imagine if…
You could move through hard emotions and difficult moments with more trust in your ability to handle anything that comes up...
You could set boundaries, have hard conversations, and navigate conflict without losing yourself or needing everything to go perfectly in order to feel okay...
You could recognize the places where you’ve felt stuck for years and finally begin responding in ways that create new possibilities...
You could notice an old pattern getting activated and have enough space to choose how you want to respond instead of automatically repeating it...
You could build deeper, healthier relationships because you know how to stay connected to yourself and to the person in front of you...
All of that is possible inside Cycle Breakers.
What is Cycle Breakers?
Cycle Breakers is a year-long, small-group program designed to help you break patterns of emotional dysregulation and relational dysfunction while building a healthier relationship with yourself, your emotions, and the people around you.
You'll learn and practice emotional intelligence skills in a highly supportive, relational environment so you can create meaningful, lasting change in your life and relationships.
Tell me if this sounds like you...
You’ve done a lot of work on yourself. You can see many of your patterns—and maybe even understand exactly where they came from—but you still struggle to show up differently when those patterns get activated.
You want to trust yourself to move through hard moments— to sit with discomfort, listen to what you’re feeling, and respond intentionally instead of immediately analyzing, fixing, shutting down, or trying to make the feeling go away.
You want to be able to have hard conversations, set boundaries, and navigate conflict without shutting down, blowing up, people-pleasing, over-explaining, or spending the next three days replaying the interaction in your head.
You want to increase your capacity to feel hard things without becoming completely engulfed by them—or needing to immediately decide that either you or someone else is wrong.
You’re tired of being able to analyze your patterns from every angle but still find yourself struggling to actually stay with yourself when things get hard.
You want deeper, healthier relationships where you can stay connected to other people without losing connection to yourself.
And you want somewhere to actually practice this stuff—not just another book, podcast, or Instagram post to consume—and a community of people who are genuinely interested in doing the work alongside you.
Cycle Breakers is right for you if…
You've been doing the “work” for a while, but want more ongoing support and opportunities to actually practice what you're learning.
You're starting to recognize your patterns, but still struggle to shift them or show up differently in the moments that matter.
You're deeply committed to taking responsibility for your role in your life and relationships.
You want to better understand your emotions and learn how to be present with them, instead of being overwhelmed by them or trying to make them go away.
You want deeper, healthier relationships without losing connection to yourself in the process.
You’re ready for a gentle mirror to help you see where small but necessary tweaks could lead to big changes.
Specifically if you are…
The person who takes care of everyone else.
You’re often the responsible one—the eldest daughter, caretaker, peacekeeper, fixer, or person everyone turns to. You’re incredibly attuned to other people, but over time you’ve realized you don’t know how to stay connected to your own needs, feelings, and boundaries.
You want to care deeply about the people in your life without abandoning yourself in the process.
The person who has thought about all of this…a lot.
You’ve been to therapy, read the books, learned the language, and can analyze yourself and your relationships from twelve different angles.
You understand many of your patterns intellectually, but when something actually hurts, triggers you, or creates conflict, all that understanding doesn't necessarily help you move through it.
You’re ready to trust yourself to experientially process hard things, beyond just understanding them intellectually.
The person determined to do things differently.
Maybe you’re a parent trying not to pass certain patterns on to your kids, an adult child trying to change your role in your family, or you’ve reached a major transition that has made you reconsider how you want to live the next stage of your life.
You can see what you inherited, and you’re willing to own your part in what happens next.
You want to change how you show up by developing a different relationship with yourself and bringing that deeper change into your relationships.

“Who created this program?”
Hi — I’m Genny!
I'm an emotional intelligence educator and author who helps people better understand and trust themselves, gently navigate their trickiest emotions, and shift deeply ingrained patterns so they can build greater emotional resilience and enjoy healthier relationships (and live all around more connected and fulfilling lives!).
I started my career as an educator and have spent much of my adult life completely enthralled by personal growth, human behavior, emotions, and relationships. I hold a BS in Education and an MA in Literature, have trained in emotional intelligence, design leadership, human systems, Family Constellations, and somatic approaches, and am the author of The Wisdom of Feeling, published by Penguin Random House (Tarcher 2026). I’ve been leading groups of Cycle Breakers through deep and lasting change since 2022.
But here’s the thing — I am a deep feeler who didn't grow up in a particularly emotionally intelligent family. I started this journey as a cycle breaker myself—and over the years, I've been lucky enough to have a few members of my family join me in showing up differently and creating new patterns that have deepened our relationships.
These days, I live in Portland with my dog, Babe, and when I'm not nerding out about people and relationships, you'll probably find me playing volleyball, backpacking somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, or bedazzling something and crafting elaborate homemade gifts for the people I love. I firmly believe in taking our growth seriously without having to take ourselves super seriously all the time.
Why I created Cycle Breakers
I created Cycle Breakers because I wanted to take everything I'd spent years learning, practicing, and teaching and give other people a clearer path for developing these skills themselves. I didn't want people to have to spend decades piecing this stuff together on their own, the way I did.
And I wanted this work to happen in community, because I don't believe we can heal and fully learn how to be in relationship in isolation. There's something incredibly powerful about getting to see other people vulnerably navigating their own struggles—and letting them see you navigate yours. Over time, you get to witness each other grow, and there's a real sense of pride, warmth, and connection that develops from that.
We're inherently relational creatures. Being safely seen by other people, especially in the parts of ourselves we've struggled with or hidden, can be deeply and incredibly healing.
I believe emotional intelligence is foundational to the health of our relationships with ourselves, our families, and communities. And when we learn to show up differently with ourselves and with each other, that change doesn't stop with us—it ripples outward endlessly.

“Joining Cycle Breakers was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Through Genny's guidance, wisdom, and truly rare ability to hold space, I’ve experienced exponential growth—personally and relationally.
I’ve done self-development work on my own for years, but nothing compares to what’s unfolded in this group. I’ve gained new tools, new awareness, and an entirely new community.
This program has been worth every bit of the time and financial investment. If you’re on the fence...take the leap. It’s worth it.”
-- Amanda"This program truly changed me. Through Cycle Breakers, I learned how to value myself more deeply, give from a full place instead of exhaustion, and show up with clearer boundaries and integrity.
I reconnected with my intuition, my lineage, and parts of myself that had been missing for a long time. The tools, language, and community held me through real transformation. It was deeper change that I can feel in my body and relationships.
I’m deeply grateful for this community and for Genny’s fearless, grounded leadership. This work feels like the beginning of a new way of living.”
-- Tracy"The programs that Genny offers through the EQ School are such a game changer. The Cycle Breakers Program in particular has been pivotal in helping me build self-trust, honing the skills to stay present with the big feelings that can arise in my body (without getting caught in reactivity or self-judgment).
The regular structure gives space to practice what we’ve been learning in real time, to pause, choose intentional steps, and move towards the life I want to create. The group format has also been so valuable and nourishing to connect with amazing people doing the work alongside me. I’m so grateful to Genny and my classmates for the growth it has made possible!"
-- Sienna“The Cycle Breakers Class with Genny has allowed me to better understand my world and the way I interact with and respond to all people—my wife, family, friends, coworkers, etc.
The process for better understanding the past while utilizing self-regulating techniques for the present has been life altering for me. I am a typical Type A business-minded personality—Genny and my classmates have helped me bring personal awareness to my emotional and physical responses to people.
I am so fortunate to be part of Genny's circle!”
-- Michael
