A Year-Long Small Group Experience for Cycle Breakers

This is a 12 month, small group experience designed to support you as you begin practicing and integrating the tools that help you improve your relationship with yourself, your emotions, and the people around you.

Breaking family cycles of dysfunction and emotional dysregulation is both solo and relational work. Some parts must be faced internally. Some require the presence, care, and mirroring of others.

Even if some of the work must be done alone, it’s essential to have a supportive community—people who remind you of your goodness, help you see your humanity, normalize healthy emotional expression, and believe in your capacity to change. This is why I do most of my work in highly curated small-group containers.

In Cycle Breakers you’ll learn the full three-part EQ School curriculum:

  • Self-Awareness

  • Emotional Self-Management & Self Regulation Practice

  • Relational Intelligence & Systems Awareness

And you’ll practice applying these tools in real time, with real people, in a supportive and grounded environment.

Program Structure

This program will take place in 3 phases:

Phase 1 — Instruction (January–May)
For ~16 weeks we will deep dive into the tools, philosophies, frameworks, and daily practices, that are going to help you relate to yourself, your feelings, your body, and the world with greater compassion, connection, and curiosity.

Phase 2 — Practice (May–August)
You’ll choose a focus area and practice your new skills in the “real world.”
You’ll have periodic accountability groups, community processing, and Q&A sessions with Genny.

Phase 3 — Community Integration (September–December)
You’ll expand your focus to relational skill-building and practice applying these tools in your friendships, family systems, workplaces, or local communities.

Expect to emerge on the other side of this cohort with greater self awareness, more self-compassion, groundedness, confidence, and the ability to hold more space for yourself and others in relationship as you move toward your relational and personal goals.

Who Is This Program For?

  • You have been doing the “work,” but want better on-going support and practice.

  • You are deeply committed to taking responsibility for your role in your life and relationships.

  • You’re starting to see the patterns, but you’re still struggling with how to shift them or show up differently.

  • You are yearning for more community and depth in your relationships.

  • You want to better understand your emotions and learn how to be present with them.

  • You are working to break deeply ingrained patterns.

  • You want to set better interpersonal boundaries.

  • You are interested in learning more about Family Systems and the “felt sense” in relationships.

  • You want to deepen your self confidence.

  • You want to meet like-minded friends who are interested in personal development.

  • You want to step into the next phase of your life; to fulfill their potential.

  • You resonate with many of The EQ School’s posts on social media

  • You are any age or gender - I’ve had students in their 20s through their mid 80s.
    All are welcome!

This program is not for you if:

  • You’re not choosing this for yourself.
Someone sent you this page, but you’re not here because you feel called to it. This work is most powerful when you’re coming to it from your own desire for change and growth — not to please someone else.

  • You aren’t ready to see your part in your patterns.
If you believe that everyone else is always the problem and you’re not open to looking at your own responses, boundaries, or emotional habits, this probably isn’t the right space for you — yet.

  • You’re currently in emotional crisis or acute distress.
To honor everyone’s experience and create a grounded group environment, this program is best suited for those who are functionally stable — meaning you’re resourced enough to reflect, participate, and integrate the work. This is not a replacement for 1:1 therapy, crisis care, or mental health treatment.

  • You don’t have time to show up.
This program is a commitment to yourself — especially in the first four months. Expect to spend around 4 hours per week: 2 hours in group sessions and 2 hours outside of class engaging with the practices and reflection prompts.

  • You aren’t open to learning.
This is a space for trying new things, stretching old habits, and letting yourself be a beginner. If that’s not something you’re open to right now, it’s okay to wait until it is.

  • You only want 1:1 support.
This is, by design, a small group, community-based program. You’ll be learning alongside a small group of dedicated others, which can be incredibly healing — even (or especially) when you see yourself in people who are very different from you. If you’re looking solely for individualized attention, this may not be the right fit.

If you feel both resistance and a deep yes — that’s often a very good sign.

I cannot overstate the impact of the EQ School.
My mental health had been suffering since I was at least a teenager. I experienced emotional neglect in my family of origin and then got involved in a cult. After leaving, I did my best to improve my mental health but nothing really made a deep impact until decades later, I find the EQ school. I took all three workshops offered and they changed my life. Helped me understand my humanity, what happened to me, why, and helped me get in touch with my self, manage my feelings, and use that to relate more deeply to others.
It is not an overstatement to say that EQ School saved my “life”.
Highly, highly recommend working with Genny and learning more about your emotions and body!
— Marie, US Midwest
I followed the EQ School on Instagram for a long time before seeing the Relationships course at precisely the right time for me.

After spending more than a decade on personal development through various books, coaches, podcasts, self-exploration, journaling, etc. I was skeptical that this course could deliver something new that I hadn’t already uncovered in some way.

Genny blew my mind from the very first session. From the people she attracted in the group, to the group format, to the super valuable content, to the space she held for all of us to share what was happening in real time. I learned SO MUCH in these 5 weeks that I’ll carry with me throughout all my relationships for the rest of my life.

If her course were required as one every child takes in High School, this world would experience a massive shift in the right direction.

10/10 would recommend investing in yourself and learning from her. The sooner, the better!
— Erika, former participant

Meet Your Instructor

Genny Rumancik has spent the last 19 years immersed in personal development work around the world while navigating her own healing from deep generational trauma. She understands the emotional landscape of cycle breaking from both lived experience and years of formal study.

A former educator and strategist with two master’s degrees, Genny blends teaching expertise with emotional intelligence, family systems theory, and somatic-informed practices to help people shift longstanding patterns in a grounded, trauma-conscious way.

She is also the author of the forthcoming book The Wisdom of Feeling: Finding Clarity, Courage, and Connection Through Emotional Intelligence (TarcherPerigee / Penguin Random House, 2026), which explores emotional intelligence, nervous system regulation, and cycle breaking in depth.

Her work is rooted in clarity, compassion, and real-world practicality — giving students tools they can use immediately in their relationships, careers, and daily lives.

About scholarships & accessibility

At this time, I don’t offer formal scholarships for Cycle Breakers. The EQ School is currently a one-person operation (hi, it’s me!), and while I care deeply about equity and access, I’m not yet resourced to provide significant sliding scale options for long-term programs.

If cost is a barrier, you're welcome to check out my workshops, which include a $50 no-questions-asked equity discount, or explore future offerings as they become available. Thank you for understanding — and for supporting sustainable, human-scale work.
